Tech Pilipinas was founded by Luis Reginaldo Medilo, a blogger, writer and web designer from Bohol, Philippines. Luis has been interested in technology since he was a child, and as he grew up, he pursued his passion in computers and the internet. He realized that technology can be a vehicle in changing the world, so he started Tech Pilipinas to serve as a tool, albeit a small one, in making the world a better place.

About the Founder
I’m Luis Reginaldo Medilo, and I’m the founder and editor-in-chief of Tech Pilipinas. A former Department of Science and Technology (DOST) scholar, I took up electronics and communications engineering in college. I’ve been interested in technology since I was little, but I gravitated towards computers and the Internet.
So why did I start Tech Pilipinas? Aside from my interest in technology, I want to write about topics that are being ignored by other local tech bloggers. I notice that many tech bloggers mostly talk about the latest and coolest gadgets and devices at the exclusion of other important aspects of technology. Now that is not a bad thing, but I want something different. For one, I want to talk about startups since I’m also interested in business. The local startup scene is still young and nascent, and I want to be a part of its growth, even if only as a writer and blogger.
I also want to conduct interviews with the major players of the local tech scene, and to organize contest and giveaways so that more people will become more interested and knowledgeable about technology. I hope that Tech Pilipinas will become a conduit for helping make technology a vital part in the lives of more and more Filipinos.

About the Logo
Our logo was designed by a talented graphic designer who I’ve known through the Digitalpoint Forum. He was able to produce this amazing concept in his first attempt, and I was instantly captivated by it. I like how the two letters “T” and “P” combine to form a symbol that represents my blog and subject matter beautifully. The red and black colors meld with my blog’s theme perfectly, and they symbolize the strength, power and passion that I have for blogging.
